Beyond the fun and festivities, there is the spirit of faith in the good ness and good will of people everywhere. TOYS AND REINDEER On the night before Christ mas, according to tradition, Santa Claus and his sleighful of toys are swirled through the air by eight reindeer who an swer to such spirited names as Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vix en, Comet, Cupid, Donder, and Blitzen. The Lucia Bride Swedish Tradition The Lucia Bride is the sym bol of the beginning of the Christmas season in Sweden. Each family chooses one of the daughters, often the young est, to portray St. Lucia. On December thirteenth, St. Lucia's Day, she rises before the rest of the family. Dressed in white and wearing a crown of light ed candles, she goes to each room wakening sleepers and offering the coffee and fresh ly baked buns.
