The Newberry Sun, Newberry, S. C., Thursday, July 11, 1968—PAGE 3 - WKMG names sales manager WKMG Radio in Newberry announces the appointment of Howard E. (Hal) Whitaker as Sales Manager. Mr. Whitaker was formerly associated in the sales department with WKKR radio in Pickens. Mr. Whitaker has been in radio broadcasting and sales for six years, having worked with WBEU in E°au- fort and WAIN in Anderson. Mr. Whitaker is a native of Bearing, Ga. and is married to the former Miss Brenda Beasley of Augusta, Ga. The Whitakers will reside in New berry. Mr. Whitaker will, in addition to his sales activities, be heard Monday through Fri day on WKMG’s “Carolina Country Style” program from 12:30 until 2:30 in the after noons, and on Sunday morn ings from 7:30 until 8:30 with a gospel program, “Sunday Morning In South Carolina.” Your Social Security Some College students may receive financial help from so cial security, according to Car lisle Bagwell, District Manager of the Greenwood Social Secur ity Office. Payments may lie made up to age 22 to students who are entitled to benefits on the record of a retired, deceased, or disabled parent. The student must be unmarried and still in school, Mr. Bagwell said. Payments are not restricted to just college students, but may be made to full-time stu dents in trade schools, business colleges, or high schools. Checks are payable for the between- term months of the summer also, if the young man or wo man plans to return to school in the fall. Mr. Bagwell said that the earnings a student has will not affect his monthly social secur ity check unless he makes over £1680 a year.
