Dr. Shealy will be aw arded the honorary Doctor of Science degree by Newberry College*, where* he* earned his A.B. degree with high honors 2 1 years ago. Dr. Shealy is erediieel with important contributions to th'* development of such synthetics as viscose* rayon, polyester and Polyamide fihie-s. (’. was killed Friday in a Braniff Airlines plane crash in Dawson, Texas. He was the husband of the for mer Bettye Keisler, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Bryan Keisler of Clinton, formerly of New berry. He was a native of Chi cago and was employed with the U. 8. General Services Ad ministration in Washington. Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, Gilbert, Wednesday with Dr, J. A. Keisler Jr. of Prosperity, officiating.
