Camp bell were honored by their chil dren with a drop-in celebration of their fiftieth wedding anni versary at their home, 2001 Nance Street. Around three hundred guests called during the hours from four to six o’clock to congratulate the happy couple, including out-of- town friends and relatives from Kinards, Pomaria, Whitmire, Clinton, Greenville, Sumter, Spartanburg, Abbeville, Den mark, Columbia, Trenton, Au gusta, Ga. and Quincy, Fla. Greeting the guests on their arrival were Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Smith. In the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Camp bell, their children, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth 0. Mims and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Folk; also sis ter and aunt of Mrs. Campbell, Miss Josephine Shannon and Mrs. Annie H. Dickert. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shannon invited the guests into the din ing room where delicious punch, sandwiches, cheese balls, deco rated cake squares, nuts and mints were served from a beau tifully appointed table covered with a white linen cut-work cloth over gold, and centered with a lovely floral arrange ment of gladioli, large and small mums and fern. A three tiered embossed cake topped with a golden bell and the fig ure fifty was at one end of the table. Assisting in dipping punch and serving were Mrs. Drayton Nance Sr., Mrs. Tom my Folk Sr., Mrs. Bennie Burn, Miss Louise Senn, Miss Susan Morgan, Miss Cathy Ob- erleitner, Mr. Henry Shannon, and Master George Shannon. Entertaining throughout the home were Mrs. L. W. Beden- baugh and the grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, name ly, Mr. and Mrs. David Mims, Messrs. Kent and Stephen Mims, Messrs. Joe and John Campbell and Miss Carol Folk. The guests were invited to register by Mrs. Ellen Swit- tenburg, and bidding them goodbye was Mrs. Hugh Shan non. The home was festive with beautiful floral arrangements of white and yellow mums, gladioli, carnations, snapdrag ons and fern, compliments of many friends and well-wishers of the couple. Those of the wedding party of fifty years ago attending the drop-in were Mr. I. M. Smith, best man, Mrs. Helen Folk Smith and Miss Josephine Shannon, junior bridesmaids, and Mrs. Seasie Dominick Vaughn, one of the flower girls. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell have three children, Mr. W. Boyd Campbell of Spartanburg, Mrs. Kenneth (Evelyn) Mims of Sumter, and Mrs. Harold (Ann) Folk of Newberry, Six grand sons, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter. C. 29061 April 28, 1967. 5-4-3tp Executor Pullet project gets underway The 4-H Pullet project is be ing sponsored again this year by Sears Roebuck Co. and The Clemson University Extension Service. The purpose of the Sears-sponsored 4-H Pullet program is to improve the quality of chickens in the Club members’ home flocks. Also, it further carries out one of the National 4-H mottos of “Learning to do by Doing” and teaching the Club members re sponsibility and pride of own ership. James McElroy, manager of Newbeny Sears store, was at the county Agricultural Build ing and presented some of the 4-H members with their chicks. Club members to receive chick ens were as follows: Vickie Adams, Lynn Boyter, Anne Kingsmore, Mary Lynn Lake, Jesse Lathrop, Phyllis Pruitt, Walter Ruff Jr., Clar ence Sanders, Donald Shealy, Larry Stephens, Robert Taylor, Emily Tobe, Steve Wicker, Jno. Williams and Ulysses Wilson. The program will be super vised locally by Suzanne Web er, assistant home demonstra tion agent; J. 0. Donkle, as sociate county agent, and B. J. Gill, associate county agent. Section 20. Service Availability. A sample copy of all types of contracts to be entered into between Grantee and its subscribers shall be filed with the City. In the event that any subscriber shall breach said contract, the Grantee reserves to itself the right to discontinue service to such subscriber. The CATV service rendered by the Grantee shall be available to all inhabitants of the City of Newberry that may desire such service except when in the discretion of the City Manager the same may be eco nomically unfeasible. Section 21. Channel Systems. The Grantee shall construct a community antenna television system with twelve (12) channel capabilities. C.—ABC/CBS As additional television and other services become available and practical, they will be added to the system up to the limit of twelve. Grantee shall provide a channel for educational television and shall make same available to all subscribers with out additional charge and shall provide each public school classroom with a con nection without charge for such service. Grantee shall furnish service to schools, fire stations, police stations, city hall, and non-profit hospitals with out any charge whatsoever for monthly services or for bringing cable to each such building. Section 22. Rights Reserved to City. There is hereby reserved to the City every right and power which is required to be herein reserved or provided by any State statute or Ordinance of the City, and Grantee* by their acceptance of the rights granted hereunder, agree to be bound thereby, and to comply with any action or requirement of the City in its exercise of any such right or power. Further the rights granted hereunder shall not preclude the City from grant ing to any other person a right to pro vide similar services in the City of Newberry. Section 23. Abandonment. In the ev ent that the use of any part of the sys tern should cease for any reason for continuous period of twelve (12 months, or in the event such system c property has been installed 'in an street or public place without complyin with the requirements of this Ordinano or the rights granted hereunder hav been terminated, cancelled or have e> pired, Grantee shall promptly remov from the streets and public places a such property and poles of such sy* tern, other than any which the City ma permit to be abandoned in place. In th event of such removal, Grantee sha promptly restore the street or othc area from which such property ha been removed to a condition satisfacl ory to the City. Section 24. Upon failure of Grant* to complete any work required by la or by the provisions of this Ordinam to be done in any street, within tl time prescribed, and to the satisfactic of the City, the City may cause sue work to be done and Grantee shall pa the City the cost thereof in the itemize amount reported to Grantee withi ing to the City the ownership of such itemized report. Section 25. The term for which each franchise is granted, as provided here in, shall be for a period of fifteen (15) years. Section 26. Penalty. The Grantee cov enants and agrees to abide by and per form all of the terms, conditions, pro visions, regulations and limitations con tained herein and the violation of any of the said terms, conditions, provisions, regulations and limitations shall at the option of the City work a forfeiture of this Ordinance including all of its terms and conditions and the same shall be come null and void. Section 27. If any Section, sentence, clause or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held illegal, invalid, uncon stitutional or void, all other Sections thereof not so held shall be and remain in full force and effect.
