by the way.. . Bv DORIS A. SANDERS BLOOD NEEDED I hope all of you who art able will respond to the call for blood donations when the Bloodmobile visits Newberry on Monday, February 20. Details as to location and time can be seen elsewhere in this issue. Like so many other things, the need for giving blood is not especially important to a person until he has been touch ed by the need to receive blood transfusions. Then it suddenly becomes of great importance— and then, if Newberry keeps up the way it is going—the blood just might not be there. One never knows when the need will arise. An accident, an emergency operation, these are things one doesn t foresee and blood cannot be stockpiled except through such programs as the Blood Bank. It has been repeated many times but perhaps it. is worth while repeating again. There ls \() charge for the blood one receives if his county qualifies under the Blood program There IS a laboratory charge for bloodtyping, t ran.'fu-ion, etc , but the blood is free. In many places, blood must be bought, and it'" an expensive proposi tion. If at all possible, please help stockpile ’’ood for YOUR pos- Hble future use. You’ll he do ing yourself, and every othtr citizen of the county, a favor. MY TREE "Since you are always talk ing about •your’ tree,” said City Manager Riebe, "how about taking a picture of it ?
