For example, in connection with their study of Italy, the sixth grade viewed a color film on that coun try. Mr. Ralph E. Watkins, Jr., Dir ector of the Newberry Schools, paid us a visit on the last day before adjournment. His visit was welcomed by all. After a visit to each classroom he departed for Newberry High school, however, not before all parties extended each other a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The third grade and Mrs. Mar guerite Havird recently visited the Silverstreet Fire Department. Mr. “Dick” Neel, fire chief, was in charge of the guided tour. They found it very interesting and in deed, are very appreciative of Mr. Neel’s help. All of the classrooms were beau tifully decorated for Christmas. The following groups had pro grams and parties commemorat ing appropriately the yuletide season: 4-H Club, Beta Club, each classroom. Mrs. Bussey and Mr. Bryson attended the 4-H club event.
