He had been in de clining health for six months and •eriously ill five weeks. Mr. Wood was born and reared In Saluda County, son of the late 'l«tither and Lucinda Pitts Wood. He had spent most of his life in Newberry where he was employ- ^ ethodi8t circuit Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Easley, Jr., are making their home in Apart ment 3-D of the Newberry college apartments. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Coates have moved to 1205 Second St. Rev. and Mrs. C. D. Word and children, Chris and Paulette, are now making their home at 923 Cornelia street. Rev. Word has recently succeeded Rev. R. M. ! DuBose as pastor of the Newberry ed by Newberry Mills, Inc., and -was a member of O’Neal Street Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lessie Bouknight Wood; two sons, Alton Wood of Spartanburg and John Melvin Wood of Newberry; two daughters, Mrs. Ester Wood Corley of Newberry and Mrs. Nina W. Wingfield of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, J. W., E. M. and T. W. Wood, all of New- feerry; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were conduct ed at 3 p. m. Wednesday at O’Neal Street Methodist Church by the Bar. J. W. Davenport, the Rev. ft. M. Brooks, the Rev. Jesse W. Tomlinson and the Rev. D. M. Shull. Burial was in Rosemont etometery. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bouknight are now making their home at 617 O’Neal street.* Mr. and Mrs. James Avery are now residing at 1307 Second St. Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Kiblei have moved to 418 Green street. Stoney Hill 4-H Club Has Meeting The Stoney Hill 4-H club met Wednesday, September 7 with *28 members present. The meeting was called to order by our local club leader, Mlrs. R. C. Hunter. All joined in singing “America” and the 23rd Psalm was repeated in unison. The Flag Salnte was given and the 4-H pledge was sung.
