Humphries, Jr. and two children, Jack and Jane of New Kensington, Penn. They left Mon day for a few days vacation at Wrightsvflle Beach, N. .C., before returning to their home in Penn- syltania. First Lt. Harry Dukes, Jr., who spent the past 15 months on duty in Korea, returned to the United States by plane and arrived in Newberry on June 6th to spend a ten day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dnkes. He will leave Monday to enter Geor gia Tech where he will take ' a course in Textile Engineering. Lt. Dukes plans to remain in the army. He is a member of the Army Quartermaster Corps. Mrs. J. F. Mrs. Maude Waters is spending a two weeks vacation in Wilming ton, N. C. in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mighton. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Reid of Fredericksburg, Va., are visiting relatives in Newberry. Misses Sarah and Margaret Gary left Tuesday for the remain der of the week on a visit with relatives. Willie H. Gilliam Rites At Rosemont Willie H. Gilliam, who lived on route one, Newberry died Sun day night at the county hospital. He was 69 and had been in poor health for a decade. Plans are being made for clin ics to be set up at the same points where these shots were re ceived before.
