Roy Summer, Jr., attended the Clothing Associa tion of the “Macs” which was held in Charlotte, N. C., Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Mrs. Downs Wright left by plane o n Wednesday to join Lt. Comdr. Wright in San Francisco on his re turn from duty on Saipan. They will spend his leave with the home- folks before he reports for post graduate work in Aeronautical En gineering Armament at the Naval Academy at Annapolis. Mrs. John Mayes has moved from the R. D. Smith apartment on E. Main street to an apartment in the home of Mrs. Eugenia Wise on Johnstone tsreet. iMir. Jim Duncan has moved from the Dunn house on E. Main street into his home next door. Mrs. May Stuck, returned to New berry over the weekend and resum ed her position with the depart ment of Public Welfare, Monday morning, after taking a three months’ course at Nashville School of Social Work, in Nashville, Tenn. The Nashville School of Social Work is affiliated with Peabody and Van derbilt colleges. Miss Martha Ann Nance of Tam pa, Fla., arrived Saturday to spend a while in the home of her cousin, Mrs. C. B. Parr and Mr. Parr in the county. Miss Nance will be joined here by her sister, Miss Mary Eliza beth Nance, a student at the Uni versity of S. C., Columbia, for a visit before she returns to her home i n Flroida. Mr. and Mrs. W. Roy Anderson, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Cope land spent last week at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Paul Floyd of Gray Court, and Miss Dorothy Floyd spent last week at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. D. J. Williams is spending a while in Florence with her son, Dav id Williams and family. Mrs. Walter and son, who came by plane from Ala bama to Greenville, were met in Greenville by Mr. and Mrs. Sum mer Monday aftemocr., Mr. Walter will join his wife and son here Friday for'a few days visit after which they will accompany him back to Alabama. Joe McCullough, seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henry Mc Cullough is spending this week in Spartanburg with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Jordan. Misses Stella Senn and Mena Douglas of Winnsboro, spent last Monday in Camden on business. Miss Senn and Miss Douglas will be members of ths Camden city school faculty for the 1946-47 session. Mrs. Bill Smith of Orangeburg, spent last week i n the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs: J. H. Ruff in the Mt. Bethel Garmany com munity. • Mrs. A. W. Murray and daugh ter Faye Murray, Danny Newton and Mrs. A. R. Chappell and son Mike Chappell, of Prosperity, 'left Sunday for a two-weeks vacation at Ocean Drive. Mr. Murray and Mr. Chappell will join them at Ocean Drive next week. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson Pitts and two children, Sherrill Anne and Colie, of Douglas, Ga., returned to their home in Georgia Monday, af ter spending a week in the home of Mr. Pitts’ mother, Mrs. J. T. Pitts o n James street. Mr. and Mrs. T. Duane Price (Nell Davis) are leaving Oak Ridge, Tenn., where they have made their home during the war, for New York City where Mr. Price will begin graduate study in bio-chemistry at the College of Physicians and Sur geons of Columbia university. Mr. and Mrs. Price are planning to take a vacation in Ypsilanti, Michigan and Rochester, N. Y., before Mr. Price reports to school in July. Mrs. Walt Davis and three chil dren, Faye, John and Myra Davis spent a few days recently in Oak Ridge, Tenn., with Mrs. Davis’ daughter, Mrs. T. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henry McCul lough attended the Pharmaceutical Association which was held at the Wade Hampton hotel in Columbia, Tuesday through Thursday of this week. Mrs. A. J. Katzberg adn two sons, Steven, three years of age, and Richard, seven months, have joined Dr. Katzberg in Newberry and they are now making their home at 1539 1-2 Harrington street. Mollohon Mill will play Laurens Mill Saturday afternoon at 4:45 at Setzler Field, Nev/berry College. Entertain At Bridge For June Bride-Elect Monday evening, May 27, Misses Doris Mayer and Virginia Senn were hostesses at a bridge party at the home of the former in honor of Miss Margaret Sligh, bride-elect. Tables were set for twelve. Pastel larkspur and shasta diasies decorat ed the rooms, and the honoree’s chair was marked with a corsage of white gladioli. Bridge and prizes were won by Mrs. Virgil Ruff. After cards were laid away, a de licious salad course was served and the honor guest was showered with many lovely and useful gifts.
