Lawrence Hester, Jr., and James Bell are leaving today to attend the Medical College of the State of South Carolina at Charleston. Mr. Hester is enter ing his sophomore year, while Mr. Bell will start his freshman year. Miss Jackie McGrath has re turned to her home here, after a here visit to her sister, Mrs. J. C. So well was made president for the ensuing year. McCormick County Council of Farm Women received honor able mention for the work that had been done the past year. Among the outstanding speak ers at this meeting were: Gov ernor Jeffries, Dr. W. P. Jacobs, Chairman, S. C. State Defense Council, and Dr. E. J. Lease, Bio- Chemist, Clemson College. An informal reception was held at the governor’s mansion. McCormick County was repre sented by the Home Demonstra tion Agent, Miss Matilda Bell, Mrs. C. A. Gilbert. Mrs. Foster Speer, Mrs. J. E.
