Langley of Plum Branch were visitors here Saturday afternoon. Mr. D. L. Burnett of the Callison community was a visitor here Monday morning. Mr. Pierce Deason of Columbia spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Deason. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Murray of Columbia were visitors here Satur day. Mrs. W. C. Reedy returned to her home in Tampa, Fla., Sunday, after spending several weeks here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Brown. TO CHECK Miss Ella Bradley Faulkner has returned to her home here, after spending about a week in Green wood with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Faulkner. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Creswell and children of Plum Branch spent Sunday with relatives here. - Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Robinson of Columbia visited relatives and friends here the past week end. Mr. and Mrs. Waymon Storey and children from Calhoun Falls spent Sunday here with her Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Sanders of Greenwood spent Sunday here in the home of her mother, Mrs. S. L. Edmunds. Miss Dorothy McKinney left re cently for Anderson where she entered the Nurses Training School of St. Mary’s Hospital. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee McKinney of near Mc Cormick and a ’4a graduate of the McCormick High School where she was an outstanding student. Mr. John William Bradley has returned to his home here, after spending six weeks in the R. O. T. C. camp at Fort Barrancas, Pen sacola, Florida. Mr. J. J. White was a visitor here past week. of Mt. Carmel one day the Mrs. Arthur Coleman spent the past week end in Greenwood in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Milford. Rhett Coleman returned home with her, having been on a two weeks’ visit in this home. Capt. J. Q. Stilwell has returned to his home in Columbia, after spending two weeks with his daughter, Mrs. J. L. Bracknell, and Mr. Bracknell, of Plum Branch. Mrs. Herman Lee of Atlanta is visiting Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Lee here for several days. Those visiting in the home of Mrs. Maggie Long and family, Sunday, were Mr. and Mrs. Calvin McNeill and grandsons, Marshall and Micheal, of Abbeville, Mr. and Mrs. Tommie Long and children of Troy, and Mr. Clyde Long of Bradley CCC Camp. Wiggins-F ooshe Of widespread interest is the an nouncement of the marriage of Miss Lula Florence Wiggins of Mc Cormick and Mr. Thos. R. Fooshe of Greenwood which was quietly solemnized Friday evening, July 12th, at the home of Dr. Chas. F. Sims, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood. Only a few close friends witness ed the impressive ceremony per formed by Dr. Sims. Mrs. Fooshe is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Wiggins of Mc Cormick. After graduation from the McCormick High School she made her home in Greenwood and Augusta for sometime but for the past three years she has been associated with the Ben FYanklin Store in McCormick. In 1938 she won the title of “Miss McCormick County” in a beauty contest and represented McCormick in State competition. For her wedding she was un usually beautiful in a sheer navy suit with white accessories. Her flowers were bride’s roses. Mr. Fooshe is the son of the late Mr. Thomas Fooshe, and Mrs. Carrie Foster Fooshe of Green wood. He is with the U. S. Navy in New York City where the happy couple will be at home ollowing a short wedding trip.
