Abercrombie has been transferred permanently from the Veterans’ Administration Facility in Johnson City, Tennes see, to the Budget and Statistic Department at Central Office of Veterans’ Facility, Washington, D. C., as of Sept. 7, 1938. Mr. Abercrombie, a native of Laurens County, later a resident of Mc Cormick, had been in Johnson City about seventeen years. Mrs. A. C. Rush and daughter, Miss Mattie Eliza Rush, also Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hancock and Mrs. A. N. Hancock of Greenwood spent Sunday with Mrs. Rush’s and Mrs. Hancock’s brother, Mr. D. T. LaGroon, and family, of near town. Miss Rebecca Prucker, student of Agnes Scott College, Decatur, Ga., spent the week end here with ;her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Drucker. Miss Mary F. Sturkey, who is teaching at Chesnee, S. C 7 is visiting her sister, Mrs. Wessie Hitt. Messrs. A. C. Bradshaw and J. P. Brunson of Parksville were visitors here a short while Tues day. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Banks and children of Greenwood visited relatives here the past week end. Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Faulkner and Miss Ella Bradley Faulkner visited Mr. Carl Faulkner, who is a student at Clemson College, Sunday. Mr. W. T. Brown of Parksville was a visitor here Monday morn ing. Miss Margaret Holloway has just returned from a three weeks’ visit in Glenn Springs and Spartanburg. McNeill and Billy and Betty Ann McNeill, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Edwards, Lois and Betty Frances Edwards spent the past week end at Conway and Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Orien Bryan and daughter, little Miss Delma, of Greenwood, spent the week end here with Mrs. Bryan’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John B. Smith. Mr. John Wesley Jennings was a visitor in Lynchburg, Va., sev eral days the past week. Mr. Morris Drucker of Honea Path spent the week end here in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.
