Mr. A. C. Abercrombie has
been transferred permanently
from the Veterans’ Administration
Facility in Johnson City, Tennes
see, to the Budget and Statistic
Department at Central Office of
Veterans’ Facility, Washington,
D. C., as of Sept. 7, 1938. Mr.
Abercrombie, a native of Laurens
County, later a resident of Mc
Cormick, had been in Johnson
City about seventeen years.
Mrs. A. C. Rush and daughter,
Miss Mattie Eliza Rush, also Mr.
and Mrs. J. W. Hancock and Mrs.
A. N. Hancock of Greenwood
spent Sunday with Mrs. Rush’s
and Mrs. Hancock’s brother, Mr.
D. T. LaGroon, and family, of
near town.
Miss Rebecca Prucker, student
of Agnes Scott College, Decatur,
Ga., spent the week end here with
;her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.
Drucker.
Miss Mary F. Sturkey, who is
teaching at Chesnee, S. C 7 is
visiting her sister, Mrs. Wessie
Hitt.
Messrs. A. C. Bradshaw and J.
P. Brunson of Parksville were
visitors here a short while Tues
day.

and children of Greenwood visited
relatives here the past week end.
