' ' ‘ t Bank of France The Bank of France is a unique institution, probably the most ex clusive organization in the world. It is privately owned with 40,000 stockholders, yet it completely controls French finances. It owns all the gold in France, the nation al treasury having not one franc in its vaults. It alone issues bank notes. It lends money to the government. It may shut off credit at any time—and it has done so frequent ly. Unlike our own Federal Re serve system, it also does a com mercial business with more than six hundred branch offices in the nation. —St. Louis Globe-Demo crat. DON’T WAIT FOR A COLD 1.
