After an extended visit in North Carolina and Saluda, S. C., Miss Ruby Abercrombie has returned home, accompanied by Miss Rachel Corley of Saluda and Miss Sallie Lou Watson of Trenton. They will sail about the 7th of Au gust from San Francisco, Calif., for the Hawaiian Islands where Lieut. Bradley will be stationed for two years in the air division of the United States army. The relatives and friends of Mr. D icus McCain, Jr., of Durham, N. Mr. G. T. Bradford on Saturday brought to the Messenger office from his field on osie of the M. G. & J. J. Dorn farms in Lincoln County, Ga., near Chamberlain’s Ferry on Savannah River, a 10- inch limb from a cotton stalk that had 18 blossoms and squares and one half-grown boll within a space of 8 inches from the end of the limb back towards the stalk.
