Rey nolds spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Bill McKinney Sunday. Mrs. Ollie White and her two daughters, Frances and Aminee, spent the week end with Mrs. W. S. Clem near Modoc. Mr. and Mrs. George Reynolds have returned from Willington. af ter spending awhile with Mr. Wal ter Dorn. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Jennings and family enjoyed the day Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. G. C. White. Mrs. Ruth Connor and children and Mrs. Thomas Newburn and baby from Greenwood are visiting relatvies here in White Town. Mr. and Mrs. George Shrine and family and a few tethers- spent awhile with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Jen nings and family Saturday evening. Mr. A. P. White from Green wood is staying awhile with rela tives Mrs. F. M. Findley and daughter from Winston-Salem, # N. C., are vis iting Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Findley. Misses Alma and Florence Jen nings spent a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. W. B. White of MeOormick Miss Ruby Dorn of Willington is staying awhile with Mr. and Mrs. George Reynolds. The Rev. O. L. Orr preached a good sermon Sunday at the White Town school house. He will hold a meeting here beginning Sunday night, July 23, and going through Saturday night. Services only at night. Mr. Cul breath and family will leave the last of the week for a month’s vis it to relatives in Mintum and Dil lon. Mrs. J. S. Chandler and three children will accompany them to their home in Mintum. Mr. Richard Gillam was carried for a short ride Sunday, the first time he has been able to go for a ride in a year. The recent showers are helping the crops and gardens, and pros pects for a good late garden are encouraging. Mrs. Agnes Culbreath is able to sit up some. Her sister-in-law, Mrs. Susie Winn, spent a part of last week with her. Mrs. Byrd is with her this week. Good many from here enjoyed the camp and short course at Lan der College last week. txi Mt. Miss Jessie Johnson from the Red Hill neighborhood spent a few children made a short visit to Au gusta Saturday night. Mr. H. T. Hornsby was dinner guest here Saturday to Mr. E. F. Bussey. Miss-Nettie Thelma Bussey was a visitor Sunday to friends and rel atives at Red Hill. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Burton, Miss Cora Wiggins and Mrs. H. J. Britt of Augusta were visitors here Sun day. Mrs. B. M. Bussey and Messrs. Carrol Bussey and George Craw ford were visitors to Augusta on Tuesday of this week. Mr. McClain from Spartanburg made a short visit here Sunday to Mr. G. E. Dukes. Mrs. Cornelia Winn arrived from Florida Saturday for an extended visit to relatives and^ friends at Plum Branch and other places. She looks well and stood the trip fine. Miss Emmie Perrin from New York is visiting her brother, Mr. James Perrin, and other relatives in South Carolina and Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hading visi ted her parents Sunday for the day. Miss Helen Gilchrist is well pleased with her work at the Bap tist Hospital. Mr. Jack Johnson made a hur ried visit to his sister, Mrs. E. M. 11 Morgan, one afternoon last week. Miss Virginia Pennal of McCor- Mmick is visiting her aunt, Mrs. T. lie. Winn. Mrs. Kate Mayson is on an ex tended visit to relatives near Aiken and Augusta. The Home Demonstration Club will hold its annual club party in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Winn Tuesday night. This is an ideal place for the party. This is -•ot the first time we have enjoyed the hospitality of this home. The cottage prayer meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. C Winn was largely attended. Though the weather was threatening, -omething like fifty persons of all ages attended and enjoyed the song and prayer service, led by Mr. H. E. Freeland. The Sullivan Sun day School joined us and took part in the service. Next Sunday night’s service will be at the church. The painting was begun on the church Monday morning. Republican Church will follow with the same preacher, beginning her services on August 1st Sunday as usual. It is expected that Red Hill will use this preacher, and that she will change her usual date, of 3rd Sun day in August to 2nd Sunday in August in order to have the servi ces of this much loved preacher.
