We hope for him a speedy recovery. Raymond Morgan is very happy over the prospects of a new bicycle which is to arrive soon, as a re ward for his good work in school the past session. On Tuesday afternoon the Wo man’s Auxiliary of the Presbyter ian Church entertained with a beautiful birthday party at the home of Mrs. W. H. McNair. The proceeds are to go to a girls school in Congo Africa. After prayer by Mrs. E. F. Gettys, the president, the meeting was turned over to Mrs. J. B. Branch, and business was discussed, also entertaining pa pers on the work in Africa were read by Mesdames J. B. Branch, J. M. Gibert and Miss Mamie Smith. As the guests arrived each was served punch, and during the even ing a contest was enjoyed. Each guest was given a needle threaded in black and a small square of white cloth with the name of some animal written on it, and told to . outline without drawing the ani mal whose name was on her square. This afforded much amusement, i After placing the finished work on ' exhibition, Mrs. Ada Kennedy was awarded first prize for a wolf. The guests were invited into the din ing room where the color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the delicious refreshments of pink and white block ice cream, cake and mints. This home was most artistically arranged with roses, snap dragon, sweet peas, and fern, making a lovely setting for the occasion. Mrs. Frank Deason and Miss Francis Rush of McCormick serv ed ounch. I just can’t see what ev erybody means. There is so much going on around here and nobody ever takes time to write a word about it. Last Friday night, Mr. Albert Cade gave the young people a “sucker narty.” This may sound unusual but everyone enjoyed it. Misses Christine Parnell and Winona ^McMahan of Lowndesville are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Parnell. Miss Sallie Lou Cade of McCor mick is spending awhile here with relatives. We are glad to see Miss Sarah Gibert out again and wonder how she likes measles, Mrs. S. C. Cade is spending this week in Augusta.
