The ineeting was in charge of the Y. M. C. A. and was conducted by the Presideit, Me.'J. 13. )errick, of Missis sippi. Afler the reading of the Scrip tarcs and singing "All L.all the power of Jesuo tame" and a prayer by the pastor, Rev. M. G. G Scherer, Dr. Scherer spoke oi the three steps to the "'Thro,e of manhood tind womanhood." These three steps he said consisted of self-reverence, self-knowledge and self control. He spoke of the true beauty of the soul and of the body as being the '"shrine for the shrine of the spirit.) He closed his remarks by impressing upon his hearers that there is nothing in life that Is worth having, that is worth being that is not religious. The young men of the college were es pecially fortunate in securing so ear nest a Christian worker as Dr. Scherer to be with them on this occasion and we deeply regret that our limited space debars us from publishing his eloquent address in full. The music for the occasion was fur nished by ten young men of the Y. M. C. A. and added much to the pleasure of the evening. All who were present commend the young men very highly for the way In which they managed this part of the program.
