The affair took 'place in the school build ing, and nwas in the nature of a going away party in honor of those members who are leaving in a few days for the various collegen throughout the state. The auditorium was beautiful ly decorated. The League colors of white and yellow were successfully carried out. In keeping with the "kit party" idea, the guests came in chil dren's costume and kept in mind the words Qf the poet, "Turn backward, oh, backward, time in your flight, And Make me a child again, just for tonight." Many youthful games and contests were enjoyed, while music was ren dered throughout the evening, and a j6yful time. was spent iby all. Refreshment,; calculated to please all "kids" were served by Mlisses Ceciil Owings, 'Sallie D. Brownlee and Mag ale iD. Curry, after which the grand march took place during which tie judges made their decision as to the young man and young lady most suc cessfully carrying out the "kid" Ipart, both in costume and manner. The fire originated in a sinall vul canizing plant in a rear wing of a three-story building and was for more than :10 .minutes smothered .between the celling and roof, finally breaking through to completely destroy tle structuire.
