Those who have not been ex emllpted oi aly count are inst ructed to await notice from the district ex emption board for firther action. The local board has no friller purisdlic tion in their cases. About 15 per cent of the Laurens conlity registrants were exempted by the local board on account of phy sicta disu(1alilleations. 2.1.1 were cer tilled to the( distr'ict board as not sulb ject to exemption and file remainder were diqualified on account of de pendent families. Ten men who were in the first call have already enlisted in some branch of the service. The (olulty receives nio ed it for them on the irst call, but will be credited oil file second call. There fore, the first 225 of the 2.1.1 not ex elipted, unless somie appeals are sus tained 1 by lie district board, will be su hiect to draft for the national armiy.
