Misses Julia Irby, Janet Macfarlane and Lai la May Dial spent Friday night in Columbia, where they went to be guests at the opening of the private infirmary of Dr. w. B. Knowlton. Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Wilkes left Fri day for New York and other northern cities. While away, Mr. Wilkes will buy an extensive line of Imported ware and other goods for S. M. & E. II. Wilkes & Co.
