Mrs. T. D. Darlington will leave for Charleston today to spend several weeks with Col. Darlington. Mrs. J. J. PIUSS is spending the week with friends in Columbia and attending the National Corn show. Sen. O. P. Goodwin and Representa tives Irby and Rlackwell spent the week-end holidays with their relatives. Mr. T. A. Cowan, of Jefferson City. Term., has been In the city several days on business with Counts & Cowan. Mrs. R. E. Sims, after spending sev eral weeks with her mother. Mrs. J. F. Burton, has returned to her home in Chester. Miss Elizabeth Riehey, who has been visiting Miss Annie Richey, will return to her home in Abbeville Thursday. Mrs. C. C. Featherstone, of Green wood, came over Sunday night to at tend the funeral of the little child of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Watts. Mr. T. H. Nelson, who Is now liv ing in Etowah, Tenn., has been spend ing a few days In the city visiting old friends and attending to business matters. Mr. W. D. Byrd, president of the South Carolina Live Stock associa tion, is In Columbia, where he will make his annual address before the association this morning. Misses Julia Irby, Janet Macfarlane and Lai la May Dial spent Friday night in Columbia, where they went to be guests at the opening of the private infirmary of Dr. w. B. Knowlton. Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Wilkes left Fri day for New York and other northern cities. While away, Mr. Wilkes will buy an extensive line of Imported ware and other goods for S. M. & E. II. Wilkes & Co. Misses Blanche and Cleo Mc.Whorter have returned to the Normal and Col legiate Institute, Asheville, N. C., ?. ter spending the holidays with their aunt, Mrs. M. E. McDaniel.
