Misses Grace and Fannie Poole and Foster Cromer spent last Thursday in Columbia with Mr. Furman Poole who is in the city hospital. He is Im proving rapidly and expects to re turn home soon. This will be de lightful news to his many friends and relatives. Miss Nannie Clark and brother MnIIcs spent Friday in Laurens. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Cooper spent Sunday with relatives near Cross An chor. Miss Hallle Wright has returned home from a visit to relatives in New berry. Mr. W. C. Winters attended the . funeral ser 'ices of Mr. Bob Hudgens at Chestnut Ridge cemetery Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Poole and fam ily spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Clardy. What came very near being a seri ous accident happened Saturday even-) lng as Mrs. E. L. Saxonand grandson William McPhorson, were returning from Waterloo, The mule they were] driving became frightened, overturn ing the buggy and throwing them out. Mrs. Saxon was caught under the bug gy and dragged for some .distance. Dr. Fennel was hastily summoned and found Mrs. Saxon badly bruised about the arms and left shoulder, but luckily no bones were broken. Sho was ten derly cared for at the home of Mr, Henry Wharton until able to ridel home. William received some bruises' but not serious. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar El more and Messers Mundny and Templcton enter tained a few of their friends with se lections on the violin Saturday night at the home of Mr. Wm. Martin. Mr. and Mrs. John Harris Wharton were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. O. Teague Sunday evening. Mr. Frank McPherson, of Georgia, is with his mother after an absence of several months. The Misses Wallace, of Belfast, is the guest of their sister, Mrs. John Harrris Wharton. Mrs. Pearl Stuart and little ones vis ited her friends Mr.?and Mrs. John Cannon before leaving for their new home in Greenville. Messers Frank and Cleveland Mc Pherson were the guests in Laurens Saturday night of their sister, Mrs. Dan. Covlngton. Miss Minnie Teague entertained a number of her young friends at a card party last Friday night at her home. Master Robert McPherson has been quite sick for the past wee.c.
