Between three and four o'clock last Thursday morning four small stores lo cated at the Watts Mills village and conducted by private individuals, were destroyed by a fire which i$ said to have originated in the store room occupied by John C. Boyd. The building, being a wooden structure, the flames spread rapidly to the adjacent buildings, mak ing quick work of the entire block. Motes & Brownlee and John C. Boyd were the principal losers by the fire, though Hawkins & Bobo and Robert Brownlee who conducted the other two establishments were burned out, the latter managed to save a portion of his goods. The stocks of the others were consumed, together with the Watts Mills rural Station postoflice, which was located in the store of Motes & Brownlee. This firm carried about a $2,500 stock, on which there was, it is understood, $1,400 insurance. J. C. Boyd had a $2,000 stock and was insur ed for about three-fourths of this value. The stock value and insurance, if any, of the other two firms is not known. The building occupied by Motes & Brownlee was the property of Todd Owens; James Thomas owned the one occupied by J. C. Boyd, while the two occupied by Hawkins & Bobo and Brownlee belonged to Perry Owings. The combined value of the buildings is placed at $1,600, insured.) General News Notes. Catarrhal troubles are increasing, not only in Laurens but all over the country. Catarrh is a germ disease and, to cure it, germ life in the nose, throat and lungs must be destroyed, and this can be done only by breathing Hyomei. There is no dangerous stomach drug f:'mg when Hyomei is used; no tablet or iquid mixtures whereby the digestion is often destroyed anil intestinal troubles added to the horrors of catarrh. Breathed through the neat pocket in haler that comes with every outfit, its healing balsams penetrate the most re mote air cells, destroying the catarrhal germs so that quick recovery follows. The complete outfit costs but $1.00 and Laurens Drug Co. agrees to refund the money should Hyomei fail to do all that is claimed for it. CITATION The State of South Carolina, County of Laurens. By 0.
