Summer School Opens Monlay. The County Summer School as an nounoed last week, will open next Mon day afternoon. It is confidently an ticipated by Mr. Brooks and the facul ty, that a large number of teachers and those who intend to teach will be on hand at tho opening exercises. In ad dition to tho faculty already announc ed, Miss Cadell, of Oadsden, Ala., has been secured to conduot for two weeks the department in drawing and sketch ing. M'llec Ourry, of Dials' Town ship, had his residence and all the out buildings on the premise totally de stroyed by firo about l? o idook last Saturday arternoon.The fire originated in the fodder loft of one of the barns and was discovered by Mr. Curry hlm solf bofoio the blazo was larger than a man's hat. IIo made an effort to ex tinguish it; but In a few minutes the building was in llamos. Meanwhile the Uro rapidly spread, first to the three cribs, smoke house, cow and horse barn, thonce to tho dwelling, cotton house and numerous shods, making a clean sweep. Mr. Curry thinks rats caused tho fire as no one had beon In the barn since noon. Ho managed to save a portion of his furniture and other house furnishings, clothing, etc. The out-buildings though and their contents, such as corn, grain and farm ing implements were lost. Tho teams happened to bo out, thus escaping. Tho loss is a heavy blow to Mr. Curry, us it is understood he had no Insurance on any of his property. EVENTS AT CltOSS HILL. Death or An Aged Citizen ?
