I. W. Moore. We regret to announce the death f Capt. I. W. Moore, which ocurred last Wednesday morning, he 17th, at the home of his son, lr. W. M. Moore, after an illness f about t wo weeks of pneumonia. Capt. Ike W. Moore was born ear Blacksburg and was 58 years f age. He was twice married. le leaves a widow, and one son y the first marriage, Mr. W. M. loore, the efficient agent of the outhern at this place. Mr. Moore as lived in Lancaster most of the ime since he first came here as uperintendent of tracklaying on he 3C's railroad. lie was a clever lan, jovial, kindhearted and riendly. Everybody liked Capt. loore. He was a consistent memer of the Baptist church. Charlotte Chronicle. j ...... c Mr. John C. yisbet Dim Suddenly 1 Mr. John C. Nisbet, of the ^ J acksonham section, was found (lead in a road leading through ^ his plantation, within a few hun- ^ dred yards of his home, shortly j after sunset last Wednesday evening by a negro boy riding a ^ mule, who failed to notice the body of Mr. Nisbet until the j | mule had jumped over it. He i j reported the fact to Mr. Nisbet's t family and the body, which was 8 still warm, was at once removed C F to his home where efforts were j mrde to resuscitate him but to no avail. Mr. Nisbet had been j engaged that day in repairing or <; putting more wire on his pasture d fence and was returning at the 1 close of the day from his work. Heart failure was the cause of ^ death assigned by the jury of in- v quest on Thursday. C Mr. Nisbet was about 42 years 1 of age and leaves surviving him his wife and one child. P b Mr. Haywood Miller of JefTerson, S C., received eighty dollars S in a lotter a few days ago which greatly 'surprised and gratified ^ him. On January 6th, 1900, Mr. a Miller lost somewhere in Monroe, ^ a day-book containing a sum of e money in bills. He made diligent search for the money but could never find a trace of it. The Township Boards of As. sessors for the various townships in the county of Lancaster will meet on the first Tuesday in March 1904. It is the duty of Township Assessors to canvas each and every return of personal property of their respective townships, in order that property may be assessed as nearly as possible at its market value. In every instance where a material change is made in the return of any individual amounting to one hundred dollars and over, the assessors will keep a note of the same and forward it by mail to the County Auditor, so that notice can be sent to the party so raised in order that the taxpayer may have the opportunity to appear before the County Hoard ot Equalization.
