They reached Lancaster last night. ?All members of the Lancaster Rifles are requested to attend the regular monthly meeting, on next Wednesday night, at the armory. ?The special that carried the Winthrop College girls to the fair thundered through here # about 2 o'clock yesterday morning on its return. Thev staid in Columbia for the fire works. ?Among those who took in the fair from this placo were Editor Connors, Mr. W. Bryant Knight and daughter, Miss Claris, Miss Bossie Mackey, Messrs. A. L. Funuerburk, D. It Williams; Mrs. T. K. Cunningham and Mr. Paul Moore. ?Rev. W. C. Ewart will leave today for Anderson, from where he goes next week to Louisville, Ga., to attend the A. R. F. Synod. Atlanta, Ua., Nov. 1.?A special from Valdosta, Ga., says: It leaked out today that a fight occurred !ast night on the special train bringing the Georgia logisIrture here to attend the state fair. There was a difficulty between aonie of the members and it is understood that Mr. Hardin of Wilkes was stabbed by Senator Hamrick. Mr. Hardin was put off the train at Forsyth for medical treatment. Several other members, including Mr. Cann of Chatham, received slight injuries in the effort to separate the behgorents. It is said that the men were the best of friends and whiskey is given as the cause of the trouble. The party very much regret the affair and none of them ran be induced to talk about it. The problem of enlarging the White House without destroying the noble lines of the preasent historic mansion or si^bordinating it, is thus successfully solved in the November Ladies' Home Journal.
