ALL W007EM AGREE. A druggist in Macon, Ga., says: "J hatt solas large quantity of Mottptr** Friend, and nave never known aftin: stance where it hat failed to produce the good results claimed for it. All women agree that it makes labor shorter add less gainful." Mother's Friend is not a chance remedy. Its good effects are readily experienced by all expectant | mothers who use it. Years ago it passed j the experimental stage. While it always snoncns ianor ana lessens ine pains 01 delivery, it is also o? the greatest benefit during the earlier months of pregnancy. Morning sickness and nervousness are readily overcome, and the liniment relaxes the strained muscles, permitting them to expand without causing distress. Mother's Friend gives great recuperative powar to the mother, and her recovery is sure and rapid. Danger from rising and swelled breasts is done away with completely. Conference Answern a Call For the Twentieth Century Fund. Tbc Daily New* Oranueburg, S. O., Dec. 7.?The State conference of the Methodist Episcopal church witnessed one of the greatest scenes in its history at its session here this morn ing, when its preacher" and lay members contributed $14,000 to the twentieth century educational fund. The rapidity and spirit with which the subscriptions were made were ilmont marvelous. This importan' matter was made the special order of business for 11 o'clock. When the hour arrived the church was filled with anxious listeners. Bishop Key in his eloquent and . impressive style introduced this fuflfnra nf flit. ; i w.vu* v v? i/uu in* /1 111 ij nrnpiuii with a masterly address on this aducational movement showing I that it was a providential occurrence, having arisen simultaneously in different parts of the country. The Methodists, together with other evangelical churches in England and America, have organized themselves and are making active strides to raise, large amounts witli which to endow their respet tive education- i al institutions. The Southern Methodist churo ? has pledged itself to raise a million and a half. The South Carolina conference, as its proportional share is to give one hundred and ti t v j thousand dollars. Since the very liberal contributions made this; morning by the representative preachers and dhodIb. some prophesied that even more than this mini would be realized. A mong ofher pood things the bishop said "'this movement is the call of God on the church in the midst of the centurieh for a forward move." Protests of husband and friends are of no avail, and it seems to me the case is a perfectly proper one for the Anticruelty society. When 1 mentioned this to the lady with the trunk, she said "Rut , -v M.VJ ?IO only to look after children and animals." "Perhaps they can twist their constitution to get the baggageman under the head of animals and prosecute you." She did not appear at all discomposed. The last time she went away I groaned for the ex pressman. The house was in an awful turmoil, and the trunK was on the third lloor. "It's not very heavy," I heard her say. At the remark the ex pressman immediately called his helper from the wagon. UI always know what that means/' he said, with a knowing nod to the maid. When he got up stairs, he could hardly lift one end. "Never failed," he said. "When they say it's light, it's dead sure to be heavy.
