Warrants will he served tomorrow morning. Mr Newbold claims that, Howie and Refo stand on precisely the satm ground. We are unahle to set how he expects to justify his po sit ion, as there is no charge that Refo has been violating the dis pensary law, whereas that is tlu ground oil which the actior against Howie is based. J Pearburn is a fine place or at t 1 j t least some of us think so. Well, . the May picnic which is held 1 every year at the Catawba falls, * is now a thing of the past. I . think every one enjoyed it even ( more than they did the preceding one as there was not such a large > crowd and too it was such a pleasant day. 1 know there were C several boys who went home very, very happy alter hearing: that dear old word ilye3" whispered in * their ears. Our neighborhood was indeed revived on this 1 occasion as we had several of the fair sex with us from Lancaster. Misses Sue Green and Janie Ilick- N lin were visiting their aunts, Mrs. Ella Gladden and Mrs. W. V. ' McCollough. Miss Sue M. Gooch was also visiting Mrs. Gladden. ' Of course where girls are, boys will be, but alas! who can blame f i them. One of the girls was at I Mrs. Gladden's a week and a cer- 1 tain young man from Rocky Mount was with her everyday. | I I Iia! ha! good pluck don't you j think to linger so long. The same young man went over and visited her in a few days after ' j this and lost his coat but luckily ' for him it was found.
