Mr. John J. Bowers died at tho home of his father Mr. K. D. Bowers in Flat Creek Sunday at 11:30 o'elOck, a. in., from the effects ot a surgical operation which was performed on Tuesday of last week. Mr. Bowers suffered with rheumatism several years ago from exposure while at work at the llaile Cold Mine. lie got better and afterward went to North Brookfield, N. S. to put in a lot of stamps for a gold mining concern there. While there he tell upon the ice one day and hurt hi< knee. Crawford of thi> place, lie rallied from the shock and was thought to he doing well till Saturday night when he took a turn for the worse, and gradually i grew worse ami worse till death j came to Ins relief. .John was an excellent fellow, a hard working, upright man. He leaves one child, a son, aged about years. Besides a policy of $2,000 life insurance in the agency of .Mr. A. .J.
