Mitchell died at his s home at Avon on Saturday morning i at two 'oclock, and the funeral services were held at New hope Cbureb on Sunday. Mr. Mitchell had been a sufferer from heart disease for some timo. He was about sixty-three years of age, and leaves a wife and three chil. I dren, Dr. W F. Mitchell, of Sbelby, N. C., Mrs. Jno. T. Chalmers and Mrs. R. G. Brice, of Charlotte, N. C. Mr. I Mitchell was one of the most promi nent farmers in the county. IHe served the county in the House of Represen tatives in 1890-1894, and was a useful citizen. He bad many friends over the county, wbo will sincerely deplore his death. He was a member of the 5th S.
