TnE Pxojrr oF Cows.--The Darling ton, (Wis.), RcpubMcan published the fo)lwing statement, made by the pro prietor of a creamery of that place: The total inoome of twenty-eight patrons was b 986 from 211 average cows, equal to WK.80 per month tor tho aver ago tiue, live months and twelve days. Is it, any wonder that dairy farmers in New Xurk, Pennsylvania, and Northern Ohio live in line houses and have big barns? Wnat our farmers want to do is td get ria of their poor cows, quit howing flax and wheat, teed down, club together and buy a tew Jersey bullo, and in five . earn tw.y county will show cows. not to,ttta.1 to Jeisey Queen, whose rec ord Is 778 pounds in one year, but good enough to 1c0ri $100, TI BED SPiDER.-In dry vir;tt e red spide, the niost destructive of klant enemies, is apt to flourist1. Soapy and other washes often recommended are alio great aids in this washing process. TmE was vhon the bean crop of Western New York ranged from twenty to thirty bushtls per acre; but several farmers say it will not be over 8 or 9 bushels this year. One field of thirty acres, very carefully fitted aud cultiva ted, gave only between thirteen and fourteen bushels per acre. Auother, near the highway, which was thought as promiting as any, only turned ten bushels per acre. Several hundred acres were destroyed by hall in the town ol Caledonia, York and other towns; many fields were injured of using too much seed, caused by the weevil scare about planting time. Tim .fassachusWfe .'1oughman ad vises its readers that the farmer has not only to learn by practical exporlence the best tine to feed each animal, but he has to learn the right proportion of each kindfbf food to be given.
