The Oeluny method, controlled hy the company, the newest and Mligence electrically, In connection with the postoffice delivery system, is ■ow an actual fact in American life. With the transmission of the first Telepost message from Boston to the •ity of Portland, Me., handed to the Telepost operator here by Mayor Hib bard of this city, the Telepost was put into operation between the two ■itles, the line including the following vay stations: Lowell, Mass.; Law rence, Mass.; Haverhill, Mass,; Exe ter, N. H.; Portsmouth, N. H.; Do ver, N. H.: Biddeford, Me.; Saco, Me., and Old Orchard, Me. In each ef these cities there is now a Telepost office prepared to receive and trans mit messages. Thousand Words a Minute. The Telepost transmits and receives messages at the rate of a thousand words a minute, from twenty to forty times as many as any other telegraph system now r in operation. The Tele post utilizes the full carrying capaci ty of the wire, while others get only 10 per cent. The Telepost copany gathers mes sages and sends them on its own linos. It delivers the messages itself by its own -■ necial delivery service, the mes sages then being called by the famil ial nann.
