tem of receiving and sending mes-

Telepost message from Boston to the

bard of this city, the Telepost was
put into operation between the two

office prepared to receive and trans
mit messages.
Thousand Words a Minute.
The Telepost transmits and receives
messages at the rate of a thousand
words a minute, from twenty to forty
times as many as any other telegraph
system now r in operation. The Tele
post utilizes the full carrying capaci
ty of the wire, while others get only
10 per cent.
The Telepost copany gathers mes
sages and sends them on its own linos.
It delivers the messages itself by its
own -■ necial delivery service, the mes
sages then being called by the famil

Tuesday by R. E. Bloum, director of
the sugar experimenting station of

were introduced from California and
the guavas from tropical islands in
