Washington, Oct. 15.—That the opium traffic in this country is ou the decline le indicated by the latest fig ures compiled by the bureau of stalls, ties showing that opium imports have been decreased by onesiuarter of a minion tjollara during 1908 as corn- fared with the previous year.
