Thfre will be two good games of base ball at the Gaffney base ball park this afternoon and again tomor row- afternoon between Gaffney and the strong Spartanburg team. It is reported that Spartanburg has been strengthened by several good players and the games will no doubt be good ones. It is reported that the visitors line-up will contain such good players as “’"‘each’' Wilson, of the College of Charleston, pitcher and third base, and Hougue. until recently an out fielder with the Spartanburg league club. Routh. who has played two games here, will probably pitch one game, w-hile Smith, of the University of South Carolina, will also be in the line-up. Then all our old friends, Beacham. Floyd. Lynch. Harris, etc., will be with us again and the game should be red hot. A good crowd should be on hand. Wood and Hop per will probably do the flinging for us with the rest of the line up as usual. Routh. Beacham.. Wilson, Smith and Floyd, of the visitors are all slab artists and It is uncertain which of these will work out the two games for them. Lynch will catch. The gentlemen of the South Carolina Press association will be present to witness the contests and the Gaffney fans must show- them what a crowd of ardent base ball sympathizers witness game s in this burg.
