BRYAN SPEAKS YO 6AFFNEY PEOPLE ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE HEAR HIM. The Strenuous Work of the Com mittee ,n Persuading Mr. Brysn to Stop In Gsffnsy. Fully one thousand people were at tho passenger station to meet Mr. Bryan Friday when No. 87 pulled in to Gaffney. Owing to a sore throat Mr. Bryan could not speak loud enough to be heard by more than half of his audience. The great Ne braskan had been constantly on the go for two weeks making from two to four speeches every day, and in addition losing much sleep and as a consequence he was not at his best. However the majority of those who were at the station were satisfied with a sight of the great man and were not grievously disappointed that they did not hear his speech. It was quite an achievement get ting Mr. Bryan to stop off at Gaffney.
