But the gospel army Is larger ! than that The finest military organi- | zation today is that commanded by the German .kaiser. On Its peace footing Germany has today an army of nearly a million men. Then, It has two great reserve corps, the landwehr and the landstunn. That means that every ablebodied man In the German empire Is part of the nucleus of a regiment. Kaeh man has his place. At the na tional call to arms all the men from the farm, the counter and the office repair to their mobilizing stations. There the uniforms and the guns await them. Each horse and saddle In the empire Is numbered. And at a given signal every ablebodled man from twenty to sixty can be swung to the 1 frontier for defensive or offensive pur- | poses. But the gospel army is larger ! yiaii that of the combined armies of 1 tne German empire. The Gospel Army. The gospel army Is not limited to ! any one nation. It is not restricted, as : other armies are, to one aex. It is not decreased by the limitation of age. Old men belong to it. Children belong to it. Husbands and wives and brothers and sisters belong to It. White and red and black and yellow skinned races, all belong to It. This army is made up of all kinds of people of all churches. An Advancing Army. « But there Is soother fact about this gospel army that I wish to emphasize. It Is an advancing army, a conquering army, an army upon the offensive. But it Is also an army that is more and more becoming possessed of purer kU.*! i oaa? Shall not we do something for Christ's glory now so that we may have the right to share In his spiritual triumph? Is it not about time for Home of us to give up living our mean, self ish, sordid lives of sinful indulgence and to join the great gospel host of those who are working and waiting for the millennial dawn? Can we. dare we, afford to waste even a day or an hour in idleness when there Is still work to be done which may bring near er this divine consummation?
