Our purpose to properly represent the distributing facilities of Gaffney makes it our duty to offer a few de tails relative to the facilities and history of this house. The business was started in 1881 by Carroll & Carpenter, the firm con tinuing until 1902, when the name was Carroll, Carpenter & Byers. In Feb ruary. 1905, Mr. Carpenter withdrew from the concern, and ever since it has been conducted by the present firm. The/ transact both a wholesale and retail business. Among the old established and well-known business houses of this city is that of W. J.
