Our purpose to properly represent
the distributing facilities of Gaffney
makes it our duty to offer a few de
tails relative to the facilities and
history of this house.
The business was started in 1881
by Carroll & Carpenter, the firm con
tinuing until 1902, when the name was
Carroll, Carpenter & Byers. In Feb
ruary. 1905, Mr. Carpenter withdrew
from the concern, and ever since it has
been conducted by the present firm.

been brought up to its present im
portant position by energy and a

mentc of this market. Their stores

square feet of space, and they carry
