Mr. Junius Parrott, assorii'e edi tor of The Cherokee News, was the victim Friday afternoon of a very painful, as well as unusual, nccident While in the act of riding toward his home on his bicvcl- late Friday after noon he fell from it and sustained ver/ painful injuries, although Mr Parrott had no Idea at that time that any serious injuries w r ould result. He was able to attend a theatrical per formance in the evening, but by the time it was concluded he was suffer ing intently. Medical examination at hig home after the performance dis closed the fact that the right knee was dislocated and had sustained a slight fracture a sta'e of affairs tnat Mir. Parrott had not antlcipa'ed at all, although his pain had bee.i Intense. A Serious Shooting Affray. A cutting and shooting affray oc curred Friday afternoon near the Globe mill that was unusual on ac count of thp number of principals concerned in it. The affray occurred at the store of Mr. Bright, near the mill. The affair at a glance seems to be rather complicated, but when look ed into it takes on form about as fol lows: James Blanton, white, is at his home severely cut, supposed'v by Hose Bright, who is in jail- Bruz Bright, son of Hose, is at his home shot, probably by Blanton, the man who is cut. Tho rumors that were at first a'loat about the matter had several others engaged in the affair, who. it now develops, are 1101 interested in the least. The revival meeting began at the First Baptist church Sunday morning. Dr. Wm. E. Hatcher, of Ricnmond Va., being the conductor. Large congrega tions are in attendance and consider able interest is being manifested. Dr. Hatcher is one of the foremost ministers in the Baptist church today and his ripe experience but the better qualifies him for the task of direct.ng poor fallen humanity to the way of the cross.
