All Departments Complete We are experiencing the heaviest Fall Trade now that we have ever had this early in the season, and attribute it to the fact that our stocks are full, well selected andjpleaseing. If you haven’t visited our store recently you could hardly recognize the stock, so many have been the additions. The price of cotton was 9 3-4 cm the Gaffney market yesterday. The Gaffney Live Stock Company sold eight new buggies Tuesday. Rev. G. P. Hamrick Is assisting In a protracted meeting at Mount Zion, Spartanburg county, this week. Mrs. Alice Venable, of Jefferson, Ga., arrived in the city Wednesday on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. Rol and Gaines. The weather people “hit It” pretty well Tuesday, as the rain did come; but it was light, and not much more than enough to lay the dust. The lime business seems to be in a flourishing condition this season, as the lime companies are kept busy filling orders for their product. Mayor Gaffney had one lone sinner 1 before the city’s bar of justice yes- | terday. The case was a “plain drunk,” and the fine $‘J.50. It was I paid. • The Le Ter is indebted to Tdr. J.' H. Lipscomb for some nice turnips which he brought us yeste rday. They are a fine variety, and were grown on Mr. Lipscomb’s farm near | Goucher. Quite a number of the Gaffney peo ple, and some of the young ladies from Limestone College, will go to Spartanburg this afternoon to see i "The Clansman.” which will lie in | i that city tonight. Rev. Mr. Listen will preach at Salem church Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. Everybody in the communi ty is invited to hear him, and all the members of the church are especially requested to-be present. W. N. Austell made a land deal Wednesday by which he acouired nesday seventeen acres of the Nott property near Limestone. The lot is a valuable one, and Mr. Austell will probably build upon it at an early dav. To the special services at Lime stone Street church, conducted by Leitch and Marshall, the public is invited. There will be an afternoon service at 4 o'clock for those who cannot come at night. The after noon services will begin Tuesday. T v lac- Batterer Who Hit Billy Patterson? WHO TIED THE DOG LOOSE?
