Mobile, Ala., March 29.—The fifth reunion of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite will be held in Mobile begining April 3, 5, 5 and fi next. The beginning April 3, 4,5 and t> next Tlte Admiral Winfield Scott Schley, a 52n,i degree member, and James Daniel Richardson, C3rd degree member; grand comander supreme council of the Ancient and Accc ptcd Scottish Rite 1 aouthern jurisdiction of the United j States of America. Admiral Schley will arrive in Mobile on Sunday afternoon and will be met at the union depot by a delegation of Masons and citizens. He will also be tendered a reception at which he will make an address. Sovereign Grand Inspector General for Alabama and the Island of Porto Rico George Fleming Moore, will also be in the city. It is expected that more tran 300 visitors will be in Mobile for the four days and they will come from all parts of th> south, and many from the north. Virginia Gets Old Battle Flag. Richmond, March 29.—Sixty-two bat tie flags captured by the Federals from Virginia trops during the civil war, have been returned to the Governor by the Secretary of war. The flags were sent to the Governor direct. He had them transferred for the time be ing to th'e confederate museum here, where they will be on exhibition. 19 0 5 BOYS CONFESS TO ROBBERIES. By her dower Mrs. Plant was ,enti-! tied to a one-third life interest in ai.j real estate in the possession of the la;< j R. H. Plant, at the time of his death. | As this i al estate was valued at $274,000, Mrs. Plant's claim against the) estate of her husband would have amounted to nearly $ino.roo. This, she freely applies to the discharge of her husband’s debts, and further re-j nounees all claim to the year’s support which she is entitled to under the law for herself and minor children. $50,000 Fire In Georgia Town. 2parta, Ga., .March 29.—Sparta met with the worst fire loss yesterday morning about 5 o'clock that she lias; suffered in 25 years. Every business! house on one block, except four, were destroyed, besides two wooden out houses. The loss will amount to about $50,000, partly covered by insurance. Damage from smoke and water ruined many goods for Rosier & Ohlman. They Stole Candy and Toys and Dis tributed Them to Others. Chit.'co, March 29.—Ten boys of Harvey, a suburban town, have con fessed in the Juvenile court, to the rob in ry of 18 stores, three churches, two school houses and a railway station. The plunder consisted of candy and toys, and it was a too free distribu tion of candy that led to their cap ture. "We started in just for fun,” sobbed one of the culprits, “but when we got into it we couldn’t stop. We just had to go right on stealing because there was always some boy that did not have what he wanted.” The boys, whose ages range from 12 to 15 years, are all of respectable families. Their repen- ; tance, added to the pleadings of their: parents, induced Judge Mack to release! the prisoners on probation. Banished from North Carolina. Raleigh, N. C., March 29.—E. Guy Hall, whose mime was much mentioned during the notable trial of James YY’il cox for the murder of Nellie Cropsey at Elizabeth City three years ago, has been ordered by a judge of the supe rior court to leave the state. The constitution permits such a sentence to be imposed in North Carolina. Hall was convicted of selling whisky in pro hibition territory. He has left that place, the order taking effect immedi ately and has gone to a point in the southeastern part of the state. ft is said that he will go to New York city. Rich German Commit* Suicide. Savannah, Ga., March 29.—John Pape, a German, 28 years old, blew out his brains some time after midnight Tuesday night in the yard of F. H. Haar, opposite the Cathedral cemetery. Pape had about two years ago received $3,000 from the division of his father’s estate in Germany, and was to re ceive shortly $27,800 from an aunt who died In California. Pape was a hard drinker and in bad health. This is supposed to have preyed upon his mind until he committed the deed. Tropical Quarantine in Effect. Montgomery, Ala., March 29.—On Saturday next the quarantine rogula tions for Alabama. Louisiana and Tex as against all tropical countries and ports coming under the suspected list will go into effect. Many quantine officials have already left for their sta- tions, and those who have not are pre paring to do so. The rules this year will be rigidly enforced.
