The overw. elming vote against the dispensary in Cherokee county has had a good effect upon the State board of control. The board has now granted the petition signed by nine-tenths of the citizens of Elloree for the removal of the dispensary from that town. Be fore the Cherokee election, the board refused similar petitions from Saluda and Dillon. Hub Evans voted against removing the Elloree dispensary, but he was overruled by the new members, Messrs. Boykin and Towill. The owner will at once begin to place machinery for the purpose of carding, spinning and weaving, and hopes to have it in operation by March 1st next, to be run day and night. In a conversation with the new owner he said that there were plenty of drug stores and mercantile estab lishments in Gaffney, but we need more enterprises to support them. We wish him success.
