A special meeting of Harmony Lodge No. \T7, A. F. M., will be held this (Thursday) evening, Feb. 23rd, for the purpose of giving local and jyisiting Masons an opportunity of hearing the address of C. Gary Owens will be glad to know that he has re turned to BamwelF after spending several days hi the- Baptist Hospital in Columbia, where she went for treatment. C .CHAPTER MEETS FRIDAY. A meeting of the Johnson Hagood Chapter, U. D. C., will be held at four o’clock tomorrow (Friday) after noon at the home of Mrs.** Robert L. Bropson. V? v The body of Mrs. Murray Garber, of Allendale, who diejd Friday at the Columbia hospital after ah illness of several weeks, was carried to Mem phis, Tenn., Sunday. She is survived by her husband, one child, her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Guttman, of Covington, Tenn., and a brother, J. Guttman, of Covington. Mrs. Gar ber was only 23 years of age and her death was a great shock to her many friends in Allendale. Play Is Enjoyed. Stede states that he/was forced to use his pocket knifd in self defense. Renew’s «throat was cut in such a manner that it almost severed hi§ head from his/body. The, wounded man was .rushed to the Aiken County hospital, but died before arriving there. Coroner J. Tom Tarver has not ye^ held an inquest. Renew was a Yn^rt of about twenty-five and leaves two ichildren. The first meeting of the Chopin Music Club/which is composed of the music pupils of Miss Ella Louise Mo- lair, who teaches at the Dunbarton High School, was held last month with Miss Molair at the high school build ing in, that town. Tho second meet- 8th, a Council met in the Earle Street Baptist chyr h and examined Brother. Sam J. Gardner, a member of th^.t ehucr, with reference to this call to the Gospel ministry. The members of the Council were Dr. T. Baron Gibson, Dr Ellis A. Fuller, Deacons E. J. Gibson. I. E. King, James L. Brown, B. O. Lathan and Charles E. Robinson With these were associated Rev. C. B Lee, Rev. E. B. Crain, Rev. S. W. Jolly, Rev. S. T. Hardin, Dr. D. J. Blocker, Dr. L. L. Carpenter and Dr. Z. T Co^dy. After the* organization of the Council the candidate was examined along the usual lines.
