The deacons and lady councetlors of the Baptist Church met in the Pas tor’s study on Monday night at 8^0’- clotk to discuss matUa*s pertaining to church finances and discipline. Miss Eva Clarke referee and Miss Caldwell, of St. Matthew's, umpire. St. Maltthews also defeated the boys in an interesting game. At the close of thi. first half Blackville was ahead with a score of 8 to 2, but in the last few minutes of play St. Matthews proved themselves winners of the day by a score of 14 to 12. Referee, Mr. Wannamaker; umpire, Mr. Bycke. The Green Parrots nut Thursday afternoon at the home of Miss Myr tle Altman at 4 o’clock. The following were present: Mesdames M. Johnson, B. E. Cooper, G.
