At 11:30 this morning the irtavy Ford plane was loaded with parts green and soapstone mixture. The plane was piloted by Lieut. H. D. Palmer of -the United States. Marine corps, whose assistant pilot was Sgt. M. Y. Shepard, U..S. M. Grif fith, epidemiologist of the United States public health service, disking exhaustive investigations found abso lutely no live larvae. Doctor Griffith stated that the teat had'proven to be 100 per cent, suc cessful. Dr. L. L. Williams, Jr., in charge of malaria control for the public health service in the United States, penetrated the deep interior of the swamp and found ractically no live larvae. Doqtdr Williams pro nounced the demonstration a success in showing what may be accomplish ed by uselof dusting planes in con trolling mosquitoes in impounding water areas which was the purpose of the demonstration here today. As further proof thttt Paris Green mixed with soapstone dust penetrates the densest foliage pieces of white paper were placed at intervals in the deep recesses of the swamp growth where sunshine is never seen and after the dusting the white papers had a green film of the mixture on each sheet.
