A. Per ry and his daughter. Miss Perry, of Gap^ Cod, Mass., met with 'an auto mobile accident which just missed be ing n fatality. They were Florida bonnd, and were traveling on Route 1 at a moderate rate of speed, ard had Jost gotten well over the new fill nereaa the Edisto River swamp, be tween Blackville and Springfield, when the rear right wheel of their touring car collapsed utterly, causing the mt to shoot in a circle to the ^p- poaite side of the road where it turn- over on its side. The car rested against a n embankment at the side of the road, about one and a half feet v height, and this kept it from turn ing completly over. In the turn across the road the car reversed its direct ion; headed back home for Cape Cod, rather than Florida. The curtains of the car were secure ly fastened, and these were almost r completely torn up by passers-by in their effort to rescug the occupants of the crippled car. When Mr. Perry and his daughter were extricated from a • debris of suit cases, hat boxes, water bottles, blankets and'golf sticks, it 'mua found that they were uninjured aara for a few minor scratches.
