Asparagus Growers’ association to the the directors this season just past has been the most iuccessful in the his tory of the association. 1924 brought a little more per crate, but the yield was smaller tfmt year. During this season, the association shipped 188,564 crates for a gross sal* of $476,966.66 and netting $881,- 760.79, or a net sum of $8.06 per crate, Williston alone shipped 91 cars and received therefore $132- 407.17. In *1924, which year brought the highest sales per crate the aver age sales amounted to $8.42 per crTle; however, these figures can hardly be compared as the association acreage was much smaller at that time, as the total net sales were only $74,000.00.'' So, considering the large yield this year, the larger acreage and mem bership, together with the necessary increased expense, this year is the greatest in the history of the asso- Wm. The table which was covered in a lace cloth over pink had a most interesting “center.” Little Contance McFarlane. niece of the bride, seated.under n pink parasol which was “showered” with gifts. Other gifts were found under her petite skirt of pink taffeta. After examining each package the guests enjoyed pink sherbet, cfckes and mints. After rehearsal on Wednesday night the bridal party of the Nine- stien-Patton wedding and the house guests of the bride were^ entertained at a lovely reception by the Misses Mary and Imogene Still. Punch was served at the arrival of the party and later block cream and angel food cake. Miss Frances Duncan, who has ben visiting Miss Cecil Pickling has returned to her home in Columbia. making a habit of doing this for A year.
