a statement rendered # ffew days ago
by Mr. Eidson, managtr of the 3. C.
Asparagus Growers’ association to the
the directors this season just past has
been the most iuccessful in the his
tory of the association. 1924 brought
a little more per crate, but the yield
was smaller tfmt year.
During this season, the association
shipped 188,564 crates for a gross sal*
of $476,966.66 and netting $881,-
760.79, or a net sum of $8.06 per
crate, Williston alone shipped 91
cars and received therefore $132-
407.17. In *1924, which year brought
the highest sales per crate the aver
age sales amounted to $8.42 per crTle;
however, these figures can hardly be
compared as the association acreage
was much smaller at that time, as the
total net sales were only $74,000.00.''
So, considering the large yield this
year, the larger acreage and mem
bership, together with the necessary
increased expense, this year is the
greatest in the history of the asso-
